Editorial Independence

How MovNuke maintains journalistic integrity and why it matters for every listener and participant.

"MovNuke does not promote platforms, does not evaluate specific projects, and does not accept commercial arrangements that could influence editorial decisions. This is not a policy we adopted reluctantly—it is the foundation on which the podcast was built."

Why editorial independence matters in this space

The collective real estate sector in Chile involves significant financial decisions for participants. When people engage with content about this sector, they deserve to know whether that content is shaped by journalistic standards or by commercial interests. MovNuke was created precisely because there was a gap: participant voices were underrepresented in a landscape dominated by promotional content from platforms and developers.

Our editorial independence is not simply a statement of intent—it is enforced through specific operational practices that govern every aspect of how we produce content.

What editorial independence means in practice

Independence means that no external party—whether a real estate platform, a developer, an investor group, or any other commercial entity—has any influence over which stories we tell, how we tell them, or what conclusions listeners might draw from them.

Concretely, this means:

  • We do not accept sponsorships from real estate platforms or developers operating in the collective real estate space
  • We do not accept payment in any form to feature, highlight, or omit any project or platform
  • Guest selection is based solely on the relevance and completeness of their experience, not on any commercial relationship
  • Participants are not coached, briefed, or directed on what to say before or during recording
  • Episodes are not edited to remove information that might be unflattering to any project or platform
  • Our editorial team makes all content decisions autonomously

What we do not do—and why

MovNuke does not evaluate specific collective real estate projects. This boundary exists for a clear reason: evaluation implies a judgment that could influence financial decisions. We are not in a position to assess the financial soundness, legal standing, or future performance of any project, and we do not attempt to do so.

Similarly, we do not rank, compare, or recommend platforms. A participant's experience with a platform reflects their specific circumstances, the specific project they joined, and the specific time period in which they participated. Generalizing from individual experiences to platform-level recommendations would be journalistically irresponsible.

How we handle conflicts of interest

If a member of our editorial team has any personal or financial relationship with a project or platform mentioned in an episode, that connection is disclosed in the episode notes and that team member recuses themselves from editorial decisions related to that episode.

We also maintain a clear separation between any future revenue streams (such as listener support or non-real estate advertising) and our editorial decisions. Revenue sources that could create conflicts of interest are declined.

Participant anonymity and consent

Participants in MovNuke episodes provide explicit consent before recording. They are informed about how their contribution will be used, and they have the option to review the episode before publication. Participants may choose to appear under their real name or under a pseudonym—this choice is entirely theirs.

We do not pressure participants to disclose information they are uncomfortable sharing. The depth of any episode reflects what the participant chooses to share, not what we extract from them.

Corrections and updates

When factual errors are identified in published episodes, we issue corrections in subsequent episodes and in the episode notes of the affected content. We do not silently edit published audio to remove errors without disclosure.
